» Who is eligible to apply?
Anyone who is passionate about starting a business, or has already has his venture in alpha or beta stage.
There are a few another criteria also, like:
Age: 18-80 (No Bar)
Qualification: Preferably atleast a graduate (Under-graduates has to be exceptionally good)
Sex: Male/Female (We don’t have any quotas..yet!)
» What kind of business idea can I submit?
Anything you like! You may apply even if you don’t have any.
The majority of topics covered in the curricuum are relevant to any business, such as team building, vendors, and revenue.
» Can I submit more than one idea?
You can submit as many ideas as you’d like, but you will have to complete a separate application form for each idea.
» What is the maximum team size?
The minimum team size is one and the maximum team size is FIVE.
» What stage of business do I have to be in?
We are accepting businesses anything from no-idea to idea/venture in alpha and beta phase.
» Is there a fee to apply?
Yes. To sustain the Lpad operation and to ensure commitment from applicants, there is a nominal Rs.500/- fee to apply.
I am not sure about the quality of my idea(s). What should I do?
That’s a pretty simple. Just Apply. Let us do our job and we will find that out for you.
I don’t have funds to start my own business.
We would be worried if you don’t have the passion to start your own business. There are people sitting on heaps of money with no ideas. We can help you find them. And not every business needs too much money.
I’m already working on my startup for a while. Is Lpad appropriate for me?
We would love to work with anything that either doesn’t exist or is still in alpha or beta stage. Actually that is exactly where we see most of our value being added. Though It works wonders even with the ideas that are still to born.
Do we need to write a business plan?
Not for us. We make funding decisions based on our application form and personal interactions. We love demos, but we never read business plans.
Can we do it without moving to where you are?
Sorry, no. What we do, we do it in person. We would not be doing you a favor by not making you to move.
Will you accept multiple startups working on the same idea?
Before we answer that one for you, we will prefer to discuss your idea to figure out where the similarity aspects lie. Even if we try not to accept competing ideas, we’d still get overlap because startups’ ideas morph so much. The way we deal with it is that when two startups are working on related stuff, we don’t talk to one about what the other’s doing.
In practice it will not turn out to be a problem, because most big markets have room for several slightly different solutions, and it’s unlikely that two startups would do precisely the same thing.

How long is your engagement with the companies for?
Our Take the Plunge Program is 1-year long and amounts to intensive engagement with each startup. But being a part of Lpad means a life-long association, as we continue to work with you on a as needed basis. Plus you are provided a life-time access to various experts to guide you on every part of your entrepreneurial journey.
Do you invest money in companies?
No. Not at the moment. But never say never!
How many entrepreneurs will be in one batch?
We plan to accept between 25 and 40 Entrepreneurs. A number of factors encourage limiting the group size, such as the capacity of reserved meeting facilities, the ability to deliver a meaningful mentorship experience, and the quality of the shared upside among participants.
Who is funding the institute? / Who is behind the institute?
The Institute is funded by Adeo Ressi, a serial entrepreneur and Founding Member of TheFunded, Incorporated. The idea for the Institute began in January, 2009, as a way to help Founders avoid common mistakes that lead to the failure of a business.
How are you different than an incubator, such as YCombinator?
The Institute focuses on the Founder, not the idea. We take high-potential individuals and train them to properly evaluate opportunities and become disciplined company founders.
The Institute shares upside from participating Founders and Mentors in the program, creating a pool of shared value for everyone involved.
The Institute creates a collaborative, teamwork-oriented environment, versus the competitive environment put forth by traditional incubators.
Where are we?
Launchpad campus is located in Zirakpur, barely 4kms from Chandigarh. The campus is well connected
5kms from Chandigarh Railway station & 4 kms from Chandigarh Airport.
Chandigarh is located in the foothills of the Shivaliks in Northern India. Thus, it is exposed to extremes of climate. Maximum temperature during summers goes up to 45 degree Celsius and the minimum in winters is around 2 degree Celsius. On the outside, the climate is hot in summers and cold in winters and inside, the atmosphere is extremely energetic, laid back & friendly!
Our workspace (campus) is a living laboratory, where you experiment, evolve & improve yourself as an entrepreneur (or your venture).
